  3. Extensis Portfolio 4.1 is a new version of Portfolio free
  4. to owners of Portfolio 4.0. Portfolio 4.1 provides full
  5. support for Apple QuickTime 4.0, including formats such as
  6. FlashPix, Flash, MP3, and even streaming audio and video.
  7.  
  8. Installers for QuickTime 4.0 are available on the Extensis
  9. CD and from Apple's web site at:

  14. Extensis Portfolio - formerly known as Fetch - is
  15. considered the media management standard among graphics
  16. professionals. Extensis Portfolio 4.1 offers a quick, easy

  149. During installation you will be requested to serialize and
  150. register the software. Please enter the serial number
  151. located on the back of the manual.

  153. Please register using one of the built-in electronic
  154. registration methods. If you do not have a printer or
  155. access to the Internet, you may fill out the registration
  156. card in the back of the manual.

  158. About the Demo
  159. If you have not purchased a serial number for Portfolio,
  160. you can run it as a full-functioning demo for 30 days. 
  161. After this period expires, Portfolio will convert into a
  162. Browser version.  This version only allows read-only
  163. operations, so you will not be able to create catalogs or
  164. add items to catalogs. Additionally, the Browser only
  165. operates in a single-user setting, so you will be locked
  166. out of any networked catalog that another user is
  167. accessing.  If you do access a networked catalog, all other
  168. users will be locked out of that catalog until you close the
  169. catalog.

  172. Using the UnInstall utility (Windows only):
  173. In order to remove Portfolio you will need to run the
  174. Add/Remove Programs option from the Control Panel.

  179. Software Technical Notes:
  180.  
  181. * QuickTime 4.0 is used on both Mac and Windows to
  182. translate a number of raster image and multimedia formats.
  183. As a result, we strongly recommend you install QuickTime
  184. 4.0. The installers for both platforms are available on the
  185. Extensis CD.  
  186. * Also available on the Extensis CD are additional MacOS
  187. extensions that improve the functionality of Portfolio. 
  188.   - The Appearance Manager 1.02 installer provides support
  189. for contextual menus and extended keyboard shortcuts in
  190. Portfolio. To use it, simply run the installer. It will
  191. work with MacOS 7.1 and above. These extensions are already
  192. available in MacOS 8.1 and above. Note that Portfolio does
  193. not support Contextual Menus with versions of the
  194. Appearance Manager prior to 1.02.
  195.   - Navigation Services provides advanced navigational
  196. features for the Open and Save dialogs in Portfolio. This
  197. is a shared library which can be installed by dropping it
  198. onto your System folder. It will work with MacOS 7.5.5 and
  199. above.
  200. * Portfolio 4.1 for the Macintosh running with the
  201. Appearance Manager enabled will conflict with Kaleidoscope
  202. 2.0. The only workaround at the present time is to disable
  203. Kaleidoscope.
  204. * On the Mac, Portfolio uses Internet Config to determine
  205. how to handle various URL types that are entered into URL
  206. fields. Internet Config is installed as part of QuickTime
  207. 4.0. If Internet Config is not installed or is configured
  208. incorrectly, URL links in Portfolio may not work or may
  209. produce unexpected results.
